Bead Peeps Swap N Hop 2015 The Big Day .......

This is my  first Bead Peeps  Swap N Hop and today I will reveal the jewelry I designed with the beads that my swap partner Marianne Baxter send me all the way from California. I  would love to visit California  its in my bucket list  for next year hopefully .Marianne is  a glass artist and is working on a new line made of PMC and glass . She uses a torch and loves to work with glass  because it changes so much before the final piece comes out of the kiln she said and I am  the opposite I am afraid of using a torch but it's on my bucket list of things to do for this year also . She does lots of volunteer work and I do also so we have lots in common. She lives in the West coast I live in the East coast. She said that she is usually so over the place and me also another common thing we have ,ha,ha.  Marianne sent me a lot of  great beads  plus lots  extra beads that she wanted to detach  so she  donated  some beads  to  my senior students at a center where I work  .I made several extra pieces of  jewelry and  they will be sold at the senior center and the money made will be used for beads and supplies that are very much needed.at the center. I also gave several seniors beads to create whatever they wanted and they  made some very special pieces  that they will get to keep .I work with a very special group of ladies .They are very greatfull for the her donation of beads .I wish we had more people like her . I made my jewelry pieces this week and at one point I did not think I could make the deadline .It has been a very ,very ,busy month lots of great things are happening ,4 of my designs will be in Jewelry Affaire July issue  magazine plus I will be doing several workshops and two of my mixed media works will be in an gallery exhibition  plus this hop .

February 2015 Pretty Palettes Inspiration Challenge

I am late on posting because I have been sick  for the last two weeks any way better late than not posting anything at all .The inspirational picture that Erin posted Sky Portal  well it took me a while to figure out what it was .It looks like a giant jelly fish  and two people below getting ready to be eaten .But when you take the time to look and observe you can see the beauty of it and then you get taken by the colors .I had planned to go bead shopping but I did not have a chance  to buy new beads so I used some bead gallery beads I had on hand and here is my inspiration. Thank You Erin and Molly for bringing in the inspiration .

Pretty Palette -January Inspiration Pantone Color of the Year Marsala 18-1438

January Pretty Palette Inspiration is inspired by the color Marsala which is Pantone color of the year. When Pantone announced this color to be the color of the year I was like'' What '' but the more I did research on Pinterest the more I like the color .I find the color to be sophisticated ,fun ,with a touch of retro depending on how you choose a color compliment it.I must confess that I don't own anything in this shade but I did find a nail polish in that shade  and it belongs to my daughter . I just remembered I have some Christmas decoration in the color  because I don't like decorations in the color red. Well then I cant say that I don't have anything in that shade. I was just thinking that  a velvet jacket would look great in that shade or velvet skinny jeans and adorned with the jewelry I made with Erin Prais -Hintz January Pretty Palette Halcraft USA. Thank you Erin and Molly .Visit E

2nd Annual Bead Hoarders Blog Hop

Lots and lots of beads in my craft room'' oh ''my god.

I love beads and when I buy them its for that special jewelry piece but sometimes that special piece will take a long time for it to be designed. I have precious beads ,semi-precious and the very inexpensive but pretty beads.I don't a problem mixing them all  because it makes the piece unusual .I also have a collection of buttons ,zippers and fabric that I also incorporate in my designs. About two months ago  I took out my bead organizer and decided to make something with those forgotten beads, enjoy.
